Caleb University to host HR, journalism conferences
The first event, the "Journalism Outlook Conference 2026," slated for July 20 at the University main campus in Imota with the theme "Reinventing Local Newspapers in the Digital Age: Innovation, Sustainability, and Global Community Impact,” will bring together media practitioners, scholars, policymakers, technology experts, and journalism students to discuss strategies for strengthening Nigeria's newspaper industry in the digital era.
The conference, organised in partnership with the Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ), the Newspaper Proprietors' Association of Nigeria (NPAN), and the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) will feature Norwegian media expert, Kirsten Marie Myklebust, as the lead facilitator.

Prof. Asikhia also announced that the HR Space Conference 2026" will take place on July 21 at the Marriott Hotel in Lagos.
The conference with the theme: "Reimagining HR for Business Resilience and Growth: Leading Nigeria's Workforce Through Disruption and Innovation," is open to Chief Human Resource Officers, business executives, policymakers, and industry leaders from across Nigeria and beyond.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the conference would focus on addressing challenges such as inflation, talent shortages, and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on the workforce.
He added that participants would develop practical solutions to strengthen business resilience and prepare Nigeria's workforce for the future.
Prof. Asikhia stressed that both conferences reflect Caleb University's commitment to promoting global collaboration, professional excellence, and practical solutions that would contribute to national development.
