How to apply to Caleb University

A step-by-step guide to applying, being admitted, and completing your registration.

This page walks you through applying to Caleb University from the very beginning — what to prepare, what each screen asks for, what happens after you apply, and what to do when something does not work. You do not need to know anything about computers to follow it. Read it once before you start.

How long it takes

Filling the application takes about twenty minutes if you have everything ready. The decision on your application is not immediate — an admissions officer reads it. After you are admitted, the remaining steps (your email address, clearance, fees) happen over your first days on campus.

Before you start

Gather these first. Stopping halfway to look for a document is how most people lose their place.

  • Your JAMB registration number. The long number on your JAMB slip. You will type it more than once, so keep the slip beside you.
  • An email address you can open today. Not a friend's, not one you have forgotten the password to. If you do not have one, make a free one before you start — you will need to open a message we send you within a few hours.
  • A phone number that works. We use it if we cannot reach you by email.
  • A passport photograph. Plain background, taken recently, your whole face visible, no cap, no sunglasses. This becomes the photograph on your student ID card, so do not use a group photograph you have cropped.
  • Your O'level result. WAEC or NECO. You will need to upload a clear picture of the result slip.
  • The application fee, or a PIN. Either a card or bank transfer, or a PIN bought from an accredited Caleb marketer.
Do this somewhere with a steady network. If your connection drops while a photograph is uploading, the upload fails and you have to do it again. A place with good signal saves you a great deal of frustration.

The steps

1

Start your application

Go to calebuniversity.edu.ng/apply. You will be asked how you want to apply.

There are two ways in:

  • I am applying directly. You pay the application fee online with a card or a transfer.
  • I bought a form from a marketer. You were given a PIN by an accredited Caleb marketer. You will enter that PIN instead of paying online.

Choose the one that matches how you are paying, then enter your first name, surname and email address.

Type your names exactly as they appear on your JAMB registration. Not a shortened version, not a nickname, and in the same order. A name that does not match JAMB is the single most common reason an application is held up, and it is tedious to correct later.
2

Check your email and set your password

We send a message to the address you gave. Open it and click the link inside. It takes you to a page where you choose your own password.

  • If the message is not in your inbox, look in Spam or Junk. It is very often there.
  • The link works once and expires. If it has expired, start again at /apply with the same email address.
  • Choose a password you will remember. You will need it every time you sign in, including months from now.
3

Pay the application fee

Once you are signed in you will be asked to pay, unless you are using a marketer's PIN.

  • Card or online transfer. You are taken to a secure payment page. When it finishes it brings you back automatically — do not close the window while it is working.
  • Marketer's PIN. Type the PIN exactly as printed. It is used once and cannot be reused.
Keep proof of whatever you pay. A screenshot of the successful payment, or the bank alert. If anything goes wrong later, this is what settles it in a minute instead of a week.
4

Fill in the application form

The form is in sections. You can save and come back — you do not have to finish in one sitting.

You will be asked for your personal details, your JAMB information, your O'level results and your programme choice. Then you upload documents.

Uploading your photograph and results

  • Lay the document flat on a table. Do not hold it in your hand.
  • Take the picture in good daylight. Avoid your own shadow falling across it.
  • Make sure all four corners are in the picture and every line can be read.
  • A PDF is fine if you have one.
A blurred photograph will be rejected and you will be asked to send it again — which costs you at least a day. It is worth taking three pictures and choosing the clearest.

When every section is complete, submit the form. You cannot change it after that without asking Admissions, so read it through once first.

5

Wait for the decision

An admissions officer reads your application, checks your details against JAMB, and looks at your O'level result. This is a person, not a machine, so it takes some days.

You will be told by email. You can also sign back in at any time to see where your application stands.

There is nothing you need to do while you wait, and applying again does not make it faster — it creates a second application that has to be untangled.
6

When you are admitted: sign in to your student portal

Once you are offered admission, go to calebuniversity.edu.ng/admission.

Sign in with your JAMB number and any one of your names. There is no password for this first visit and nothing to pay to get in.

7

Work through your onboarding steps

Your portal shows a list of steps with a tick beside the ones you have finished. Work down the list. It tells you what is left and what to do next.

Typically this includes confirming your details, uploading anything still outstanding, setting a password for your account, and accepting your admission.

8

Your Caleb email address

The university creates an email address for you — your name at calebuniversity.edu.ng. You do not apply for it and you do not pay for it. Your portal shows it and lets you activate it.

Start using it. From this point on, everything official — results, notices from your college, anything from the Bursary — goes to that address and not to the personal one you applied with.
9

Clearance

Clearance is the university confirming, office by office, that you are properly admitted and have everything you need to begin. Each office signs for its own part.

Your portal shows every office and whether it has signed. The offices are Academic Affairs, the Bursary, your College, Student Affairs, the Medical Centre, the Library, Counselling, Biometric Registration and ICT.

When every office has signed, download your clearance form, print it, and take the printed copy to the Academic Affairs office. That last step is not optional — the printed form is what completes your registration.

10

Your fees

Your fees appear in your portal once you are enrolled. You can see what you owe, what you have paid, and what is left.

You can pay online with a card, or pay into the university's bank account and then send us the evidence: attach a photograph of the teller or the transfer receipt, and the Bursary checks it against the bank.

Sending evidence does not change your balance straight away. It shows as pending until the Bursary confirms it against the bank. That is normal, and it is how the university makes sure no payment is recorded that never arrived.

If something goes wrong

These are the things that actually happen. Most have a simple answer.

I never got the email

Look in your Spam or Junk folder first — it is there more often than not. If it truly has not arrived after an hour, go back to /apply and enter the same email address again. Check the spelling of the address very carefully; one wrong letter is the usual cause.

My name does not match my JAMB registration

Do not open a second application to fix it. Write to admissions@calebuniversity.edu.ng from the address you applied with, say what the name should be, and attach your JAMB slip.

My photograph will not upload

Usually the file is too large or your connection dropped. Take the picture again at a lower quality setting, or send a PDF. If it still fails, try on a different network — a phone's mobile data often works where a weak WiFi does not.

I paid but the portal still says I have not

Give it a few minutes and refresh — an online payment sometimes takes a little while to be confirmed. If it has still not moved after an hour, write to Admissions with your payment reference or a screenshot of the alert. Do not pay a second time.

I have forgotten my password

Use the "forgot password" link on the sign-in page. It sends a reset link to the email address you applied with.

The page will not load, or nothing happens when I click

Refresh the page first. If that does not help, try a different browser, or the same page on a phone. If it is still stuck, note down what you were doing and write to Admissions — that description is what lets ICT find the problem.

Someone is asking me to pay them to process my admission

Do not pay them. The university does not charge anything to create your email address, to open your portal, or to sign your clearance. Report it to admissions@calebuniversity.edu.ng.

Still stuck? Write to admissions@calebuniversity.edu.ng. Tell us your JAMB number, what you were trying to do, and what the screen said. That is usually enough for us to sort it out in one reply.
